Helping Others Realize The Benefits Of a 4 Man Tent

Camping is an experience like not other.  There is something very refreshing about being in the great outdoors, especially with good friends and family.  In Boy Scouts we had one motto ‘Be Prepared’.  There is great logic behind this.  If you are well prepared for a camping trip your experience will flow smoothly and be fun, however without adequate preparation, camping can be a disaster.

We will touch on some of the benefits of a 4 man tent and preparing for your camping trip.  We hope to make you camping experience on that will last a lifetime.

So if you’re looking at a 4 man tent and wondering if it is right for you then here you go.  This tent has long been know as the average sized tent.  It is large enough to put a group or small family in and, also small and light-weight enough for 1 or 2 people to use.  Never the less, this sized tent is great and convenient for most camping situations

It is funny, they can give you the statistics on a tent and make your feel like it is the Taj Mahal.  But, once you get inside the tent and are trying to change or sleep comfortably all those great height and square footage stats go strait out the window.  Set the tent up and get inside of it before you make a purchase.  You will be very happy you did. I like 4 man tents to sleep 2 or 3 people at the most.  Even on the trail I like to be comfortable when I sleep and putting 4 grown adults in a 4 man tent is just too small for me.

If you are a serious backpacker or have a long trek ahead of you, a 4 man tent might be a little much for you.  Sometimes these tents can be very light.  However sometimes they can be heavy also.  One thing to keep in mind is that when you are backpacking….the less weight the better.  A 10 lbs. tent might not feel like much now, but after 10 miles on the trail it can help a lot.  It all depends on the type of camping that you are doing. If you can drive to your camp site then there are no worries.  When backpacking a few pounds less weight can make such a huge difference.

I hope this article will help you gain some knowledge on the 4 man tent.  If you are seeking additional information try this link.  Here you will find some great ideas and input about tents and camping.

Looking for a Tent? Follow These Guidelines

When you are camping your tent is your home and place of comfort. Making sure that place is ideal for you and your fellow campers can make your experience a great one. There are a few things we need to address to make your camping experience a great one.

First, what will you be using the tent for?  Most 2 man tents are light weight enough for backpacking, but if you plan on backpacking, finding a tent that is comfortable on your backpack will be very important on the trail.  The ease of erection is also very very important, especially if you get caught in a rain storm and need to set the tent up ASAP without it getting soaked.  If you have never purchased a tent before, I recommend going to a speciality store where you can see the tent set up and review your options with a specialist.  Do you need a tent with extra reinforcement (recommended) along the seams and floor?  You can also get in the tent and get a feel to see if it matches your experience.  Do you like the small light weight 2 man tents or do you like the larger tents where you can sit up or possibly stand to change clothes.  Either way you will find this experience very knowledgeable.  Below are some important considerations.  Measure and weight them carefully.

Consider these aspects:

-Reinforced seams

-Reinforced floor

-Windows–these are very important in the summer

-Vents–very important in the summer as well

-Fly–waterproof cover

-Weight

-Size of the 2 man tent–spacious

-Height

-Ease of erection

-Comfortable

-Cost

-Durability

-Four Season Tent

I am a regular camper.  I have camped around 6-12 times per year for the past 19 years.  My number one and most important recommendation is to have a quality made tent.  My tent was inherited from my uncle. It sat on the shelf in our basement for over 10 years, I use it now all the time.  It was a high quality tent and is nearing 25+ years old.  Here is why quality is so important.  While camping you are in a vulnerable situation.  Your tent is your home and any weather is going to effect the outcome of your day.  Sitting in a rainstorm in a cheap tent will cheapen your experience.   Sitting in a nice, strong, tough and water proof tent with make your life so much easier at that point.  A good quality tent will last years and will indefinitely be worth the investment.

Finding great deals online is very easy these days.  You can find specials and guarantees all over.  You can find used and new tents for all price ranges.  One important perk I like is getting a quality made tent.  There is no replacement for the comfort of a good quality tent when you are in the middle of a thunderstorm in the middle of the woods.

Measure these characteristics carefully.  Make sure that they are exactly what you want.   Remember your tent becomes your home while camping and a nice home in the woods will enhance your experience quite a bit.  We recently camped in Arizona during Monsoon season.  I had no worries about our antique of a tent.  I knew it would hold up because it wasn’t a cheap-o-tent.   Best of luck to you and live well, be happy and camp your life away!!!

Shopping For a 6 Man Tent!!!

A 6 man tent is perfect for the family outing.  There is something about camping and being in nature that really creates a family bond.  Camping is a completely different type of vacation.  It can create a unique family bond in a short weekend that shows the kids the great outdoors and teaches them a ton of new things.

There are all types of tents these days.  Once you start shopping you may realize that tents these days are comparable to small homes, they are sometimes referred to as cabin tents.  These tents can be huge and relatively speaking for a pretty good price.  You can find 6 man tents with 2 or 3 separate rooms for sleeping.  Tents with screened-in front porches.  Tents that you can back your vehicle into for extra space.  You can even find tents with showers inside them….yes I said that right…showers.  The tent designers and companies really go all out to make sure your camping experience is as comfortable as you want it.

What is key about a 6 man tent is that there is so much space that you will never run out of room for gear or food.  These tents are great even if you are bunking with only 2,3, or 4 people because there is so much room that it make camping a little more comfortable.  Remember, a tent becomes your home and comfort zone, when you are camping and to have a comfortable sleeping area can make your experience so much better.  What is also really amazing is that they are pretty easy to set up as well.

Where do I  find a good 6 man tent?  If you have never purchased a 6 man tent before I would recommend going to a camping retail store and looking at different tents.  Keep in mind the ease to setting them up and the quality of tent that you want.  A good quality tent can last decades.  Have the camping specialist erect the tent or you do it yourself.  This will give you some great insight on what you are getting yourself into.  Compare prices online.  Once you know exactly what you want, if you are in for finding a great deal, check out some online camping stores.  You can find amazing deals that can save you some money.

Have fun, remember, camping and vacation time is supposed to be a blast, start now and enjoy the rest of your camping days.  Chris Reynolds is an informational writer to find more info on all subjects go here!!!

Is a 4 Man Tent Right for You?

So you’re looking at a 4 man tent and wondering if it is right for you?  This tent has long been know as the average sized tent.  It is large enough to put a group or small family in and, also small and light-weight enough for 1 or 2 people to use.  Never the less, this sized tent is great and convenient for most camping situations.  You probably need to know a few things about the 4 man tent.  We will touch on these so you are 100% sure that this is the tent for you.

Most 4 man tents can fit 4 SMALL men…very small men in the tent.  Even then it can be very cozy.  This is how it has always been for tents for one reason or another.  If you happen to fit 4 grown men in a 4 man tent, you probably won’t get any gear into the tent.  This tent can fit 3 grown men with gear, and then it is still cozy.  I have a 3 man tent that I use most often.  I can put 2 grown people in the tent with our gear, and we are usually fairly close to each other.  Why this has been the standard for years I have no idea, however it has always been like that.  So keep that in mind.  If you have a family of 4 you might want to consider a 5 or 6 man tent for comfortable sleeping.  If you have 4 pals that you are camping with and only one 4 man tent….well….you will be getting to know each other very well over your camping trip.

The next thing to consider is the height of the tent.  When a tent says it is 5 ft high, keep in mind this is the very center of the tent.  The walls slope in and down and if you are planning on standing up in the tent think again.  My 3 man tent is 5 ft tall and it is still challenging to stand up and change clothes in the tent.
